As Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025 approaches, the University of East London (UEL) community is preparing to recognise and celebrate the unique perspectives and strengths that neurodivergent individuals bring to our campus and beyond. What is Neurodiversity Celebration Week?
Neurodiversity Celebration Week is an annual event dedicated to recognising and celebrating the strengths and talents of neurodivergent people. The concept of neurodiversity views neurological differences such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and Tourette syndrome as natural variations in the human brain rather than deficits or disorders.
Established in 2018 by Siena Castellon, a neurodivergent student and advocate, Neurodiversity Celebration Week has grown into a global initiative. The event focuses on challenging stereotypes, improving understanding, and creating more inclusive environments for all neurotypes.
When is Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025?
Neurodiversity Celebration Week is observed from March 17 - 23 2025. This week-long celebration provides an excellent opportunity for schools, workplaces, and communities to engage in activities that promote understanding and appreciation of neurodiversity.
What is the best way to support neurodivergent students?
