Guided by our UEL vision, values, and core commitments, the main aim of the Alumni Advancement Office is to develop a sustainable, lifelong and mutually beneficial partnerships with our graduates who are interested in staying engaged with the University of East London.
Charlie Werren: Alumni Engagement Manager
Charlie started working for the Alumni team in January 2008 and has been managing the team since 2011. She has a wide knowledge on how both UEL and Alumni Engagement works. Heading up the Alumni Engagement team she is responsible for planning and overseeing the implementation of a programme of alumni communications and events. She also manages a programme of engagement opportunities for our graduates and facilitates the route for them to stay in touch with the University. Charlie is also the Editor of Now & Then, our annual magazine for members of the UEL Alumni Network, and manages our Alumni Portal, UEL Connect.
Kamile Hudson: Senior Alumni Engagement Officer
Sam Mirza: Senior Alumni Engagement Officer
Sam joined the team on a permanent basis at the start of August 2015, as the team's Alumni Officer and in March 2019 was promoted to Senior Alumni Officer. Prior to this Sam had also worked for the team on a contract between 2012 and 2014. Sam works closely with Charlie on alumni communications, including Now & Then.
Sam manages a number of school-based and social events during the year and leads on the teams Alumni Achievement Awards. Sam works closely with Kamile on join projects including the teams final year talks and interest groups.
Alumni Engagement Officer - Hannah Griffith
Hannah joined the team in August 2019. Hannah works closely with the Senior Alumni Officers supporting them on all project activities, she is also responsible for the day to day running of the office, dealing with general inquiries and updating the alumni database.
Hannah also manages the process behind the Alumni network passport card and sourcing new benefits and discounts, as well as looking after the team's social media accounts.
The Alumni Network provides a global platform for its graduates and Friends of UEL to stay in touch with their university, and maintain relationships with former classmates and the wider UEL community for years to come. We are based at UEL, Room WB 2.14 Docklands Campus, University Way, London E16 2RD
