Sustainability in teaching and research
UEL offers many academic opportunities for students in which sustainability is a core focus, which includes:
Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner Apprenticeship
Level 7 Sustainability Business Specialist (Integrated Degree)
In addition to specific courses that focus on sustainability, UELs Mental Wealth module has been designed to incorporate sustainability knowledge and prepare students for careers in a job market where there is increasing importance on awareness of environmental and social issues across every sector.

Sustainability Research Institute
The Sustainability Research Institute (SRI) is UEL's centre of excellence for environmental research and development.
Established in 2001, the SRI was one of the first dedicated sustainability research institutes in the UK. We have since built an excellent international reputation by applying our ground-breaking research and development in the real world. Focused around three research themes we have a strong track record of delivering multidisciplinary research for and with external partners in industry, local and regional authorities, non-statutory government agencies, NGOs, and local communities.
Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability
The Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability (RDCS) is the regional hatchery for innovation, skills and enterprise supporting a more sustainable and resilient future for businesses, students and residents in the Royal Docks area. The Centre embeds a culture of sustainability in everything we do with a commitment to support underrepresented groups and drive engagement between the University, east London and the world.
