Campus sustainability map
We regularly update our campus sustainability map so that everyone can learn about UEL’s sustainability initiatives and find our facilities.
The map includes information about sustainability at UEL across all 3 campuses, including travel and transport facilities, UEL shuttle bus stops, cycle storage, showers and cycle maintenance kits, UEL Community Garden, water bottle refill stations, solar panels, the Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability, and waste facilities and FreeCycle Hubs.
Sustainability league tables and rankings
In the 2025 rankings, we improved our position in the People and Planet University League, rising 46 places to 66th. This places UEL in the 2:1 award class, which recognises strong overall environmental and ethical performance.
The Sustainability team will build on this progress in 2026 by focusing on:
- ethical careers
- ethical investment
- improving waste and recycling performance
