Health, Safety and Wellbeing
Health, Safety and Wellbeing
Welcome to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Department
The university's Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy is divided into three distinct parts which are:
- Statement of Intent which provides the policy and general direction for the management and governance of health and safety within the University;
- An organisation which defines the responsibilities and accountabilities of all staff;
- Arrangements set out to achieve the health and safety objectives of the policy and where you can find all policies, codes of practice and guidance documents relating to Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
Senior staff and managers at the University of East London must familiarise themselves with the policy and ensure that their staff are aware of the policy, which can be accessed on the university internet and intranet pages, such as the Health, Safety and Wellbeing pages.
The Health, Safety and Wellbeing policy has been produced to enable the University of East London to comply with its legal duties and responsibilities, under the Health and Safety Work at Work etc. Act 1974 and relevant statutory provisions.
Policy Review
The University Health, Safety and Wellbeing Board will review this policy annually. The policy will be reviewed sooner if there are significant changes in legislation, University structure, or any reason to believe the policy requires updating.
