Susan Kaur's story
Susan Kaur's story
When asked why I chose to study at UEL, I often reflect on its inclusive culture with a wide range of academic courses and social clubs. UEL gave me exposure and confidence to think on various levels. The hands-on experience while studying allowed me to develop multiple skills, which in turn enabled me to think out of the box.
After completing my undergrad, I moved into the social sector. I worked with various social organisations in education, finding sponsors, and initiating programmes to encourage underprivileged children to complete formal education.
Following this, I joined a school where I was entrusted with developing the curriculum for early years to middle school. Over the past few years, I've been leading a team of 100 teachers while promoting STEM, AI, and Robotics among children aged 6-16. Additionally, I oversee all projects related to academia and manage the well-being of the staff.
My favourite memory of my time at UEL revolves around the lecturers who were always available to ideate and the opportunities that the university provided for me to engage with industries while studying.
