I don't come from a family with fancy degrees. Both my parents passed away when I was a teen, and without a university background, my learning journey hasn’t been a walk in the park. I've got a confession to make. Coding and programming used to scare the living daylights out of me. But you know what? Thanks to this course, I've discovered a strange enjoyment in it. Maybe it's the way the academics at UEL explain things or the cool programming sessions – they make it all seem so digestible. Turns out, I can do this. It's not as inaccessible as I thought, and it's genuinely interesting and enjoyable.
Back in 2011, I ventured into the world of Business Management, and after working in retail, e-commerce, and even with DHL Express, I realised that the game is changing. The future is all about machine learning, and I wanted in on that action. So, here I am, diving into the world of data analytics for the first time.
I want to be a role model in my community, showing them that it's never too late to improve your skills and inspire others to do the same. Once I finish this course, my plan is to give back to my community. I dream of starting a tech start-up, maybe integrating AI in a way that's sustainable. If I can pull that off, it would bring me immense joy. Sustainability is a big deal for me, and I want to create more job opportunities right here in my local community.
I live in Leyton. Leytonstone and Maryland are fantastic places, full of inspiring folks eager to learn and educate. Sure, my area faces its share of challenges, particularly in terms of crime. But I see it as an opportunity. Coming from East London, I want to be a role model, and I hope my journey inspires others to strive for more. Education is the key to a better life. Leyton is a lively space, incredibly diverse with a mix of different faiths. The Stratford Centre and Westfield centres are my go-to spots for shopping. You can find anything you need there, and it's buzzing with energy.
Now, in my free time, I can't get enough of the lovely parks around. Coronation Gardens in Leyton is my go-to spot, especially in the summer. I'm a regular there, jogging away to keep fit. It's right next to the Leyton Orient football centre. And oh, did I mention I'm an Arsenal fan? But hey, I've got a soft spot for Tottenham too. It's all about unity in diversity. I also enjoy spending time in local libraries. Waltham Forest has this fantastic library that I frequent on weekends. They're great spaces for studying and connecting with the community.
UEL is my local university, and I think it deserves more recognition in the community. Once I stepped in as a student, I discovered how beautiful the local campuses are. I wish they would open more to the community because it's a positive space where people genuinely want you to succeed.
