Abhishek Khanna's story
Abhishek Khanna's story
Reflecting on my time at UEL, my favourite memories revolve around the vibrant multicultural experience while studying and engaging in stimulating group discussions before exams.
I chose to study at UEL primarily due to its location, ranking, and positive word-of-mouth from fellow students.
UEL played a pivotal role in shaping my career trajectory, providing me with invaluable guidance from top-notch professors. Their mentorship helped me navigate the complexities of the public health sector and positioned me for success.
Since completing my studies at UEL, I returned to India and delved into the public health sector. With over a decade of experience, I've been involved in various public health programmes ranging from Health System Strengthening and Maternal Health to Immunisation and Non-Communicable Diseases, operating at district, state, and national levels.
I currently serve as a National Professional Officer in Health Promotion & Social Determinants of Health, tasked with enhancing health promotion activities across the country and bolstering NCD (Non-Communicable Diseases) services in coordination with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
For current students at UEL, my advice is to stay focused and make the most of the excellent opportunities available. Seek guidance from faculty members and stay connected with the UEL alumni network, as these connections can prove invaluable in your academic and professional journey.
