Art is woven into the fabric of east London. There's so much art around east London, that it spills out on to buildings and roads in an ever-changing display. You may encounter a Banksy mural, an impromptu performance or elaborate street art as you wander around the area.

Art in the Docks
Only steps away from our Docklands campus, Art in the Docks is an artist-led social enterprise featuring creators from all age groups and backgrounds. The art featured is multidisciplinary including painting, printmaking, photography through to sculptures, fashion, and puppet making. They frequently hold various exhibitions and classes such as drawing and painting.
Raw labs
Raw Labs is a creative arts hub located in the Royal Albert Wharf area championing arts, culture, and creativity (and serving great coffee too). Try your hand at designing your own tote, meet emerging creators and artists from the community or enjoy a film screening, talk or life drawing class.
Poplar Union
Poplar Union is a fully fledged arts and community centre in east London built to nurture and tap into the creative flare of this part of the city. Expect great community spirit, classes, and exhibitions.
God's Own Junkyard
God's Own Junkyard in Walthamstow is a psychedelic neon light wonderland filled with vintage signs, installations, and bright artworks. The workshop belonged to Chris Bracey, popularly known as the ‘Neon Man’ for his unique creations. Many of these signs ended up fashioning props for the likes of Tim Burton and Stanley Kubrick. It’s an amazing free activity to do in London if you want to brighten up your world for an afternoon and capture some fun photos and videos.
Street art
You can't mention art in east London without touching on street art. There is a lot of it around, on buildings, walls, and street corners. Expect to see masterpieces from the likes of Jerome Davenport, Stick Studio, and Thierry Noir. East London also has London’s first public art walk known as ‘The Line’ running from Olympic Park to the Greenwich Meridian.
