After an unprecedented and transformational year, the University of East London is looking ahead to a brighter 2021.

Cass building

We work with global organisations to make our courses entrepreneurial, creative and inspirational. Wherever our students want to work – in business, technology, teaching, arts, media, science, sport or the public sector – they will have the skills necessary to adapt to the world of tomorrow, and to be the leaders and pioneers of today. More and more, employers are seeking workers who possess skills such as emotional intelligence and creativity, the ability to think critically and undertake complex problem solving. That’s why we’ve put these skills at the heart of every one of our degrees, counting towards students’ final qualification. As evidence of these achievements we give our students a career passport that’ll open doors.

About Us

The University of East London has been pioneering futures since 1898: from the 2nd Industrial Revolution through to where we are now, the 4th. We are a careers-led university, dedicated to supporting our students to develop the skills, emotional intelligence and creativity needed to thrive in a constantly changing world.

Over the 2018-19 academic year the University of East London has been developing and starting to implement a new 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, to transform our curriculum, pedagogy, research impact and partnerships to make a positive difference to student, graduate and community success.

Our ambitious but achievable goal is to become the leading careers-focused, enterprising university in the UK, one which both prepares our students for the jobs of the future and provides the innovation to drive that future sustainably and inclusively.

The School of Education and Communities is a highly successful provider of education, early childhood, special needs, social work and teacher education and training programmes. We also play a key role in the provision of education services and professional development throughout East London and beyond. We promote a strong research culture, building on our reputation for innovation within education and communities.

Our department of Social Work and Social Sciences sits within the school and enables students to explore key issues surrounding Brexit, globalisation, leadership, migration, individual wellbeing, and the future.

We offer collaborative partnerships and professional practice partnerships to benefit our students and external partners.

At University of East London we are working on the some of the big issues that will define our future; from sustainable architecture and ethical AI, to health inequality and breaking down barriers in the creative industries. Our students and academics are more critically engaged and socially conscious than ever before. UEL Sports

Our sports department is consistently ranked among the top three in London. We’re not blowing our own trumpet - it’s what our students say in their ‘satisfaction’ ratings.
We’ve made sure our courses give you the skills and credentials you need for a rewarding career in sport. You can learn about the science behind sporting performance in areas such as psychology, nutrition, and strength and conditioning. It’s important to match theory with practical experience, so we’ll make sure you put your learning into practice during your course. When it comes to important work placements and internships, we have superb connections with clubs and sports organisations at local, national and international level.

Our students regularly undertake placements at football clubs such as West Ham United, Derby County, Millwall and Essex County Cricket Club, while our sports therapy students have worked at the London and Berlin marathons. In fact, our students have travelled the globe to develop their skills, with countries recently visited including the United States, China and Holland.
