Invitations were sent by email to personal email addresses during the first week of April. Any students who have not registered for their 2020/21 ceremony should go to our graduation page to register their place before 1  August.  If you are registering after 1  August please contact .

Do I need to take a COVID-19 test to attend my ceremony?

You must have a negative Covid test to attend graduation. Anyone unable to provide proof will be denied admission. In order to keep our community safe, you must have a negative Covid test regardless of your vaccination status. If you take a Covid-19 test and the result is positive, you will be able to defer to the winter graduation so you can still celebrate your day.

What you need

  • The barcode on the test strip or the ID number printed under it (the test strip is the part of the kit that shows your result).
  • A mobile phone number and/or email address so the NHS can text you to confirm your result

What to do

  1. Obtain a lateral flow test (LFT) online, from a chemist or designated testing centre.
  2. Take your test at least 24 hours before your graduation ceremony.
  3. Follow the instructions provided with the test. There are also ‘how to’ videos online.
  4. Wait three minutes for the results.
  5. Report your result online to NHS.
  6. Confirmation of your result will be sent to your mobile phone. Show this when you arrive at your graduation ceremony.
  7. If you do test positive please follow NHS advice and contact to confirm you are unable to attend.

Remember, if you cannot provide a negative result on the day of graduation you will not be permitted to attend.

I have an outstanding debt to the University, what should I do?

If you have an outstanding debt to the University and it has not been paid off before the date of your ceremony you are not eligible to attend.

Example: 2 tickets = 2 x adults or 1 x adult and 1 x child
Children and minors under the age of 16 who attend as guests are your responsibility. If they are not accompanied by a suitable adult guest you will be asked to leave so that you can care for them. Please note that children and other guests do not sit with graduands during the ceremony. There are no concessions and everybody will need a ticket to enter.
Babies and children are not permitted to cross the stage with graduands.
You must let us know if you are bringing children under 2 on the booking form under the special requirements section so that we are able to allocate appropriate seating on the ground floor for your guests and children.
The regulations regarding children here reflect the venue's health and safety policy, you may be asked to leave if you do not adhere to these terms. Anyone without a ticket will not be given admittance.
