Why did you choose to study at UEL?
I chose to study BA (Hons) Fine Art at the University of East London because my dream was to recognise my artistic potential. In 2020, someone suggested to enrol at UEL. I applied immediately and have never regretted this decision.
What is your one special memory of your time at UEL?
My special memory at UEL is the moment I completed my first major project. It was a true reflection of my growth as an artist, marking a turning point in my creative journey and confidence.
What have you done since graduating from UEL?
Since graduating from UEL, I have worked as a freelance artist, showcased my work and collaborated with other creatives as I continue refining my skills to evolve as an artist.
What is your current job role? And what does it involve?
I am currently working as a freelance visual artist. My role involves creating original artwork, collaborating with clients, participating in festivals and continually exploring new techniques and creative concepts.
How did UEL help you get to where you are now?
UEL provided me with hands-on learning exposure to diverse techniques and the supportive environment helped shape my creative journey.
What advice would you give your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to be patient and embrace every challenge, trust in my abilities, and not fear failure. Every experience is an opportunity for growth and staying persistent leads to success.
What advice would you give to UEL current students preparing to graduate?
I would advise UEL current students to stay curious, embrace new opportunities and trust their unique creative voice. Additionally, adaptability, perseverance and networking will unlock many potential future career opportunities.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know
Most people don't know that I am deeply passionate about art history. It influences my work and creative process as I draw inspiration from different periods to shape my unique artistic vision.
If you were to do it all again, would you still choose UEL?
Yes, I would absolutely choose UEL all over again. The university provided all the sufficient resources, support and creative environment that I needed to grow as an artist. This helped me trust my potential and gave me the confidence I needed to thrive as an artist.
