2025 July Alumni of the Month
Tania Morgan, LLB Business Law, 2024
Why did you choose to study at UEL?
I chose to study LLB Business Law at the University of East London because of its strategic location, its commitment to equality and diversity, and its reputation as a career-focused institution that has been pioneering futures since 1898.
What is your one special memory of your time at UEL?
My special memory at UEL is achieving a first-class degree.
What have you done since graduating from UEL?
Since graduating, I continue to volunteer at the university's Legal Advice Centre assisting a diverse group of individuals and gaining valuable experience in advocacy and client practice.
What is your current job role? And what does it involve?
I am currently volunteering at the university's Legal Advice Centre to gain continued valuable experience within my chosen field.
How did UEL help you get to where you are now?
I achieved a first-class degree, thanks to UEL providing me with the motivation and confidence needed to pursue my master’s degree.
What advice would you give your younger self?
I would advise my younger self to ‘never give up, follow your dreams’ and that ‘even if failing in some areas you can still achieve your goals’.
What advice would you give to UEL current students preparing to graduate?
I would advise them to ‘never undervalue themselves’ and that even in moments of doubt, ‘remember that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. You are your greatest obstacle or your greatest champion.’
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know:
I am a mum of four and I have a chronic illness.
If you were to do it all again, would you still choose UEL?
Yes I would choose UEL again, as my level six lecturers were exceptional, making the experience immensely rewarding. Because of them, I would choose this path again without any hesitation.
