The Children's Garden Nursery
The Children’s Garden nursery is a part of NEWTEC – a training provider specialising in Early Years and Health and Social Care.
Curriculum
Experiences in Early Years can benefit children in developing social skills and their ability to learn. Good quality childcare benefits children throughout primary school. A profile containing records of your child’s progress will be kept by the nursery, and parent/carers are welcome to read this record at any time.
At the heart of EYFS is the principle that young children need to play to have fun; to make friends and begin to learn and understand about the world around them.
Curriculum
Parent involvement
Parents and carers are encouraged to contribute to the daily routine at the nurseries, such as story time and festivals, with our open door policy. Parent’s evenings take place three times a year, along with parent groups and parent reps.
Children are observed as part of the practitioner’s daily routine, children’s trackers are completed to ensure that each child progresses in line with their developmental milestones.
Observations and trackers are also used to enable staff to recognise if any children are exceeding their developmental milestones, or if they need additional support.
Parent involvement
Healthy eating
Meals reflect all dietary requirements and preferences of children. Regular food tasting events take place to encourage parents/carers to be active in choosing the children’s menu and the menus are changed regularly.
