OVERVIEW
Prior to this, I served as the Director for the master’s Programme at City, St George’s University of London. My professional background includes extensive experience as a Midwifery Manager and Practice Development Midwife. My academic and professional work is driven by a strong passion for developing future midwifery leaders, a commitment that has consistently shaped my teaching practice over the years. I have also gained valuable international experience through a twinning initiative with an academic colleague in Nigeria, facilitating collaborative teaching and fostering the intellectual development of students across both countries. In addition, I have contributed to pioneering work in the UK aimed at transforming childbirth services, particularly within the context of continuity of carer models. My key interests centre on promoting excellence in midwifery practice and advancing pedagogical approaches—such as the use of simulation—to ensure students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professional readiness required for contemporary practice. With a deep commitment to student development, I prioritise ensuring that learners meet the competencies expected at the point of qualification. In recognition of my work, I was invited to present at the Advance HE Teaching and Learning Conference 2024, where I showcased initiatives designed to enhance student employability.
