As well as being an academic and Psychotherapist, Suzannah is a Chartered Psychologist, an EMDR Therapist, and a Clinical Supervisor. She has a particular specialism in working with complex trauma.
Her areas of interest include mental health diagnoses in psychotherapeutic practice, triage process, case formulation, clinical assessments and measuring clinical outcomes, burnout and compassion fatigue, psychodynamic practice, research methods in psychotherapy, approaches to working in multidisciplinary teams, the social context of applied psychotherapeutic practice, approaches to clinical supervision, and public understanding of psychology and psychotherapy, to name but a few!
Outside of UEL, Suzannah leads multidisciplinary psychotherapeutic complex trauma services for looked-after children and the professionals who support their care, providing support and training services for complex developmental trauma across a range of settings.
In her Private Practice, she provides clinical and research supervision to practitioners across the helping professions, and direct clinical work. She sees adults for EMDR and long-term psychotherapy either face-to-face or online, and also out in nature.
Throughout her career, Suzannah has worked with adults, young people, families, and professionals, in a variety of organisations, as well as private practice, and has led and supervised a network of coaches in Whitehall.
