As well as being an academic and psychotherapist, Suzannah is a Chartered Psychologist, an EMDR Therapist, and a Clinical Supervisor. She has a particular specialism in working with complex trauma.
Suzannah's research interests include complex trauma, services for children and young people in care, reflexive experiential training for caregivers and workers, case formulation, compassion fatigue, approaches to working in multidisciplinary teams, the social context of applied psychotherapeutic practice, and public understanding of psychology and psychotherapy.
Outside of UEL, Suzannah leads multidisciplinary psychotherapeutic complex trauma services for children in care and the professionals who support them, providing support and training services for complex developmental trauma across a range of settings.
In her private practice, she provides clinical and research supervision to practitioners across the helping professions. Throughout her career, Suzannah has worked with adults, young people, families, and professionals in a variety of organisations, as well as private practice, and has led and supervised a network of coaches in Whitehall.
