In 2024, Shana Francis became a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education at the University of East London. Shana’s current role includes working in the Department of Education and Communities. It focuses on training future PE teachers through the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), School Direct, and Apprenticeship routes.
Shana Francis has been committed to working with young people and educators to create a modern technology-based education. She began her career as a secondary school physical education teacher in 2019. She began combining her passion for technology with PE by creating fun and inclusive lessons/resources based on Pedagogical models in Physical Education. In 2022, she decided to explore her passions within Pastoral Care and became a Head of Year. Her research interests are teacher education, physical education, pastoral care, youth and adult sports, and technology in sports.
