Lape is a broadcaster with over a focus on representation, screen production and industry collaboration. She has a passion for creative story telling, and innovation in media, all of which are embedded into her teaching practices. Lape is particularly renowned for her impactful storytelling on pressing human and socio-economic issues. Her work has led to in-depth reports and documentaries on topics such as child domestic labour in West Africa, mental health in developing countries, entrepreneurship, and race relations. Overview
Lape is an accomplished broadcast journalist with over a decade of on-screen experience at prominent international broadcasting stations, including BBC, CNN, and TRT World. She holds a degree in Politics and Media and a Master’s in Journalism from the University of Birmingham, England. Known for her passion for new media, diversity in the industry, and innovative storytelling, Lape has produced impactful reports and documentaries on critical human and socio-economic issues, such as child domestic labor in West Africa, mental health in developing countries, and race relations. Her work, featured on platforms like CNN and Euro News, has not only raised awareness but also spurred lasting change, solidifying her reputation as a committed journalist and storyteller. Currently, she lectures in Media Production at the University of East London and is a Doctoral Candidate producing documentaries on representation, race, and class in Britain.
