Jaya Kypuram

Jaya Kypuram is an Academic Manager and Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the Royal Docks School of Business and Law, University of East London. She is a member of the School’s Senior Leadership Team, where she leads the Growth and Diversification portfolio. 

With over 15 years’ experience in UK higher education, Jaya is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), a CIM Education Ambassador, and a British Council grant award winner for international enterprise and student mobility projects. 

An expert in quality assurance and academic standards, she is an active member of the School’s Quality Committee and has chaired numerous collaborative partner validation events in the UK and overseas. 

Jaya teaches across undergraduate, postgraduate, MSc, and MBA programmes, specialising in marketing strategy, consumer behaviour, and entrepreneurial marketing. 

Her research focuses on entrepreneurial marketing and the civic and enterprise role of universities, with publications across journals, conferences, and edited volumes. Alongside her academic work, she is a strong advocate for knowledge exchange and has delivered marketing consultancy to SMEs, supporting inclusive, place-based enterprise growth. 

In 2023, Jaya received the UEL Vice-Chancellor and President’s Award for Leadership Through Change, recognising her impact in driving innovation, collaboration, and School-wide transformation.
