Programme Leader

MArch Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part2)

Department of Architecture & Visual Arts , School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering

Isaie is course leader for the Architecture MArch (ARB/RIBA Part2) course, as well as being the module leader for the design modules. In parallel he has been running the MArch Unit6 unit since 2013, where students argue for an architectural ontology based on sharpening the tension between architecture and its parts. We are Investigating the production of space trough tectonic studies and sustainable construction and design processes. Increased computational capabilities are able to push our understanding of architecture as a relationship of objects into an unexpected new domain of previously unachievable spatial complexity, materiality, structure and aesthetics as to create informed well crafted space.

Areas Of Interest

OVERVIEW

Isaie Bloch is a Belgian architect and founder of Eragatory - a versatile design practice based in London since 2010. His ongoing research and design ambitions are focused on the impact of post-digital craftsmanship within multiple disciplines including architecture, plastic arts, fashion and furniture design.

Eragatory aims to produce work that embodies crafted post-digital eclecticism through an engagement with both new design processes and the the oldest of manufacturing techniques and vice versa. The work of the practice has been published internationally and exhibited widely including at the FRAC Collection Orlean Fr, Zaha Hadid Design Gallery London UK, Centre Pompidou Paris FR, The Metropolitan Museum New York USA.

Isaie Bloch also lectures on Architectural Design in the MArch Part2 programme both at the Bartlett UCL and UEL in London.
