Hamid received his BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nottingham Trent University in 1987 and MSc in Electronic Engineering and MBA in Business Administration from University of Wales in 1988 and 1990, respectively. He joined UEL in 1991 as a Research Assistant and was appointed a Lecturer in 1994 and a Senior Lecturer in 1997.
Hamid teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and contributes to the management of partnership programmes. His teaching interests include data communications, computer systems and computer networks.
Hamid is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Member of Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET).
