OVERVIEW
As a Senior Lecturer in cybersecurity, my primary responsibility is to deliver high-quality teaching and research in the field of cybersecurity, aligning academic programmes with industry demands and emerging trends. My role involves a balanced combination of teaching, research, academic leadership, and mentorship to nurture the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
With a PhD in Cybersecurity and Risk Management, my academic journey has been complemented by professional experience as a Senior Security Consultant. This dual perspective allows me to bridge the gap between theory and practice, equipping students with the skills needed to address real-world challenges. My passion for teaching and research is driven by a commitment to fostering innovation, critical thinking, and ethical practices in the field of cybersecurity.
This role enables me to contribute meaningfully to the academic community while shaping the future of cybersecurity through education, research, and mentorship.
Teaching responsibilities:
- Leading and contributing to security-related modules such as Security Management, Computer Security, and Digital Forensic Technology.
- Designing and delivering engaging, hands-on labs to foster critical thinking and technical expertise.
- Acting as a module leader, overseeing curriculum development, and assessments, and providing personalised feedback to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Mentoring and supervising postgraduate and doctoral research projects in cybersecurity areas such as AI-driven threat intelligence, risk prediction for critical infrastructure, and blockchain-based security solutions.
Research contributions:
- Conducting impactful research in cybersecurity risk management, focusing on critical infrastructure protection, machine learning applications, and threat intelligence frameworks.
- Publishing high-quality papers in reputable journals.
