OVERVIEW
Flora Kisby is a senior lecturer in Initial Teacher Education. She has worked in education for over twenty years, including eleven years as a Key Stage One and Two primary class teacher in the London Local Authorities of Southwark and Lambeth. She developed an English specialism early in her career when she was identified as a Leading Literacy Teacher and through this, supported others in their pedagogy.
Between 2012 and 2016 she was a senior lecturer in English Education at the University of Roehampton before returning to the primary sector in the role of Deputy Headteacher at Christ Church Primary, in Lambeth, where she was ECT and student teacher mentor, and English Lead with responsibility for Teaching and Learning and assessment across the curriculum.
She was delighted to join the Initial Teacher Education team at UEL in January 2022 as co-course leader for the BA Primary Education with QTS degree.
