OVERVIEW
Elly has a passion for teaching and highlighting the application of theories to real-life examples because of her experience in the banking sector. She uses her excellent leadership, communication and organisation skills to work effectively with students from different backgrounds and cultures taking into consideration, the uniqueness of each learner and appropriately adapting her classes.
Elly gained her PhD in Business and Management, with her research centring around the glass ceiling in the banking sector; in particular a case study of the Nigerian banking sector. This came out of her curiosity over the difference in the progression of women in the banking sector in the United Kingdom in comparison to the banking sector in Nigeria during her time at Santander UK.
In addition to other qualifications, she is a fellow of Advance HE (FHEA), which acknowledges her teaching excellence. All these will prove invaluable in enhancing students' learning experience at the University of East London, and she is determined to contribute to knowledge through research publications.
