David Lashbrook is a Senior Lecturer in Film and Media. He is module leader working across Acting for Stage and Screen, Film, and Media Foundation. His main interest is currently in scriptwriting, and he is studying towards a PhD by Practice at the University of East London in this area. His previous research interests have focused on representation in Film and Television. He is an independent filmmaker, focusing on micro-budget short film production, and has extensive experience teaching Film & Media within Universities and Colleges.
David is also Co-Programme Development and Enhancement (PDE) Lead within the department of Arts and Creative Industries – Media. Where he is responsible for developing the technology and facilities at the Docklands campus to drive graduate outcomes in relation to industry, enhance the course provision across the department, and improve the overall experience for students during their time at the university.

- 2013: MRes in Film and Television Studies, University of Leeds
- 2011: PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education, University of Huddersfield
- 2006: BA Hons in Media Studies and Applied Sports Science and Coaching, University of Exeter
