OVERVIEW
Dr Athirah Mohd Ramly is a dynamic figure whose journey through academia and expertise in communication engineering has shaped her into a wireless networking and security researcher. After graduating with a B.Eng (Hons.) degree in Communication Engineering in 2014, she was offered scholarships to pursue her passion, earning a Masters in Communication Engineering in 2018 and ultimately achieving her PhD in Engineering in 2021. Her academic expertise seamlessly transitioned into a role as a lecturer at Sunway University, Malaysia where she dedicated her skills to shaping the minds of future technologists from 2021 to April 2024.
As an EC-Council certified instructor for Ethical Hacker and Hacking Forensic Investigators, she not only educated but also safeguarded digital landscapes. Dr Ramly’s leadership qualities shone as she was appointed as the programme leader for B.Sc. Information Technology (Computer Networking and Security) at Sunway University, overseeing successful programme accreditations and internal and external audits. Her expertise extended beyond the classroom, where she was occasionally called upon as a panel auditor for Internal Quality Audit For Programme Accreditation at Sunway University.
CURRENT RESEARCH
Dr Ramly’s research focused on the convergence of wireless networking and security, exploring the integration of AI/ML techniques to fortify digital infrastructures, a pursuit she has passionately undertaken for years.
