Dr Annalisa Meloni is a senior lecturer in law at the Royal Docks School of Business and Law. She is co-director of the Centre for Justice, Law and Society and the REF coordinator for law.

OVERVIEW
Annalisa has over 16 years of experience in research and teaching. Her research is in the field of EU law relating to borders, migration and asylum with a focus on visa policy, border control and externalisation. Key themes in her research include the nexus between human rights, security and technology in the field of border control and how this is impacted by European integration. She holds a PhD (AHRC funded) and LLM from University College London and a LLB in English & European Laws from the University of Essex (including a year at Radboud University Nijmegen). She teaches EU Law, Public Law and Employment Law and coordinates the LLM dissertations.
Annalisa collaborates with non-governmental and governmental organisations. Since 2019, she has been working on several projects on the entry and stay of human rights defenders in the EU. She is also a member of the European Commission’s expert group 'Community for European Research and Innovation for Security' (CERIS).
