Professor Ameed Abdul-Hamid

Professor Ameed Khalid Abdul-Hamid is a Visiting Professor in Ethics in AI in Healthcare at the University of East London and an internationally recognised authority in artificial intelligence, digital healthcare, and dentistry. He is Chairman of the Arab Organisation of AI in Healthcare and President of Middle East Affairs at the Dental Artificial Intelligence Association (USA). A recipient of the Alan Turing Award in Dental Artificial Intelligence, Professor Abdul-Hamid has spent more than three decades advancing digital dentistry, healthcare innovation, and AI governance. He has published extensively on responsible AI, healthcare regulation, and clinical decision support, and is the author of several books on artificial intelligence in healthcare. His work focuses on developing ethical and regulatory frameworks that enable safe, trustworthy, and patient-centred adoption of AI technologies. He collaborates with governments, universities, and international organisations to promote responsible innovation and the future of intelligent healthcare. He currently serves as Visiting Professor in Ethics in AI in Healthcare at the University of East London, Chairman of the Arab Organisation of AI in Healthcare, and President of Middle East Affairs at the Dental Artificial Intelligence Association (USA).
