The Royal Docks School of Business and Law (RDSBL) is celebrating the first anniversary of its free Business Incubator Programme, which has already helped over 60 early-stage entrepreneurs transform their ideas into new ventures.
The programme, open to UEL students, graduates, staff and the wider community, offers practical workshops, one-to-one mentoring and expert support to guide founders from concept to market.
One standout success from Cohort 3 is Ajith Muthayil, founder of NodeIn Instruments. Ajith discovered the programme via LinkedIn and reached out to programme lead Dr. Yuliana Topazly for guidance. With the incubator’s support, Ajith refined his business plan, developed a compelling pitch deck and explored various routes to market. His efforts culminated in winning first prize at the final pitch showcase, judged by representatives from London & Partners and the local business community.

Building on that success, Ajith has co-founded ThinkClockBattery Labs, which aims to transform battery health diagnostics.
Backed by Innovate UK, ThinkClock has raised a substantial grant to further develop and commercialise the technology. He remains closely connected with RDSBL’s incubator team and plans to participate in Climate Tech Week 2025, hosted by Royal Docks Centre of Sustainability. He said:
The RDSBL Incubator programme was instrumental in fine-tuning our business strategy by offering invaluable mentorship, strategic networking opportunities, and critical market insights. It helped us sharpen our product offerings and validate our innovations, paving the way for focused business development in the Industrial IoT and advanced manufacturing sectors.”
Reflecting on the programme’s impact, Dr Yuliana Topazly said, ‘It has been great working with Ajith on the RDSBL’s Business Incubator Programme. Ajith has moved a long way to launch a fantastic business solution. We are delighted to see that Ajith’s hard work has paid off, and he is now on the journey to further advance a battery health analytics tool that helps recyclers assess and repurpose batteries for second-life applications. This will have a substantial impact on reducing production waste, lowering energy consumption and extending battery life. It is great to see that the RDSBL’s Business Incubator Programme is helping those who need that extra push and knowledge to get their amazing ideas happen"
RDSBL Executive Dean Fatima Annan-Diab concluded: “The RDSBL Business Incubator Programme is a remarkable achievement, empowering early-stage entrepreneurs and transforming ideas into real-world solutions. The impact of this programme is truly amazing, not only in helping founders like Ajith secure significant funding and scale globally, but also in supporting the next generation of business leaders to turn their visions into reality. RDSBL continues to go from strength to strength, making a lasting difference in the world of entrepreneurship.”
Applications for the next cohort, starting on June 4, 2025, are now open. Don’t miss this chance to turn your business vision into reality.
