Administering healthcare through science became her main passion while studying for her pharmaceutical science master's at UEL.
I particularly enjoyed the ‘Drug Design, Discovery & Development’ module where I was able to bridge my theoretical knowledge and practical skills, both of which are essential for drug innovation.

The highlight of her academic journey was writing her dissertation about the effects of GABA and Baclofen on tolerance in Drosophila melanogaster. This project not only deepened her understanding of addiction biology, but also nurtured her research and analytical skills, ultimately preparing her for a successful career in pharmaceutical research. This project also changed her perspective on how simple systems can contribute to solving real-world healthcare challenges.
Vishakha continues to excel in her current role as a Quality Control Analyst at GSK, a British multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. Vishakha strongly believes that the practical experiences she gained in advanced pharmaceutical analysis and quality control, experimental techniques and laboratory practice, evidence-based practice, and drug discovery modules prepared her for this incredible career opportunity.
She says, ‘The research opportunities I've gained during my studies also gave me the confidence to handle real-world pharmaceutical dilemmas.’

As a healthcare professional, Vishakha hopes to become a leader in pharmaceutical research and quality control. She strives to ensure life-saving drugs meet the highest safety and efficiency standards. On a broader scale, her aim is to facilitate improvement in access to healthcare and inspire others to pursue impactful careers in the pharmaceutical and bioscience industries.
