We are excited to share that the physiology laboratory at our Docklands campus is now officially accredited by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), the professional body for sport and exercise sciences in the UK. This amazing achievement means our equipment and laboratory procedures meet the BASES standards for accuracy and reliability.
As a result, our BSc Sport and Exercise Science and Sport Science postgraduate students will benefit from unrivalled access to our physiology laboratory, throughout their time at UEL. This will enable our students to build their practical experience using industry-standard equipment, commonly used by their future employers.
To top it all off, we had the opportunity to welcome Hashtag United’s men's and women's players to the laboratory where they got to fully immerse themselves in our fitness testing facilities.
Richard Avery, our Applied Sport and Exercise Scientist here at the University of East London, shares his thanks to all stakeholders who have been involved in the process.
A huge thank you to all those who have supported in the process, which has involved an overhaul of our laboratory processes, monthly data collection on our equipment, and has been four years in the making."
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Richard, BASES, and those who have provided their support in the past four years to secure this accreditation. This will be a great benefit to our current and future student cohorts.
