The University of East London has celebrated those colleagues who have made a remarkable contribution to the life and progress of the University over the past year.
The annual Vice Chancellor and President Awards took place as part of the Royal Docks Festival of Innovation and Enterprise, which showcased much of the work that has been taking place to upgrade the campus experience - and which allowed colleagues to enjoy the in-person ceremony for the first time since Covid-19 struck.
Professor Amanda Broderick, vice chancellor and president, presented the awards.
She told the audience, "We've seen so much progress in recent times and there is so much more to come. And that's why it is healthy and useful to stop for a moment and take stock of where we are - and acknowledge those who have made it all happen.
"Our whole community should celebrate their extraordinary efforts to bring about our much-needed return from the Covid-19 pandemic. But today we are going to pick out a handful who deserve special mention, those who have gone the extra mile or have struck upon some innovation that has moved us forward closer to our goals."
