British Wheelchair Basketball is looking for volunteers to help with the biggest domestic event in their calendar, taking place at SportsDock on 14 and 15 May! Be part of the team that delivers this fantastic sporting event and gain experience in a variety of skill areas at the same time.
You don't need to have any previous experience to sign up to be a volunteer, and you also do not need to be involved in the sport to volunteer at this event.
Volunteers will take integral roles in supporting the staff to ensure the event runs smoothly, which includes:
- registering teams
- collecting and collating scoresheets
- assisting teams across the competition as they compete for the coveted Championship titles!
Alongside on-court volunteers, there are also opportunities to take on roles such as:
- operating the spotlight
- event desk/ticketing.
Additionally, they are looking for volunteers to help with venue set-up on the day before the National Championships Finals (13 May). Volunteers will gain experience in working as a team toward a collective goal - preparing the courts and venue for a prestigious sporting event - as well as personal skills gained such as logistics, practical event work, and communication.
Your work at this event will contribute toward allowing teams to compete for the title of National Champions across several divisions, with several of these games being broadcast live.
