Excited prospective students along with members of the public filled our Stratford campus and explored our health, sport and bioscience courses, facilities and more. Attendees got to speak to academics, engage in experiential activities, enjoy free ice cream and even watch UEL BSc Biomedical Science and MSc Biomedical Science alumnus and internet sensation, Big Manny, on stage.
Our guests, including a surprise visit from the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, got a taste of our sports, midwifery, nursing and allied health subjects via our state-of-the-art Hospital and Primary Care Training Hub.
The Hub was filled with experiential activities, including a chance to test your knowledge of healthy foods, use VR equipment to interact with the human anatomy, attempt physiotherapy mobility assistance scenarios, try CPR on our manikins and much more.
At our Arthur Edwards building, current UEL bioscience students presented their award-winning medical science projects. Guests had the opportunity to learn about computational biology and drug design with our expert staff's help.
From looking for parasites in blood to working with microplastics, our bioscience labs hosted curious science students all afternoon. Our medical science lecturers even demonstrated how to conserve water and re-purpose plastic consumables used in the laboratories.
From free sports massages to testing blood pressure, our guests had so many opportunities to explore the great work that takes place within our School of Health, Sport and Bioscience, and have all their questions answered by our academic team.
The day was a massive success with major thanks to our incredible academics and staff members.
