Dozens of University of East London (UEL) staff and supporters were among the more than 30,000 people who took to the central London streets for this year’s Pride Parade.
The annual event, organised by not-for-profit Pride in London, celebrates LGBTQ+ pride and solidarity and marks the end of Pride Month [June].
Among the UEL cohort was Chief Marketing Officer Vanessa Varvas who said it was wonderful to see the University visibly and proudly celebrating its LGBTQ+ community and allies.
I am proud to have represented the University for the fourth year in a row to celebrate who you are and who you love. In the words of RuPaul ‘If you can’t love yourself, how are you gonna love somebody else?’ #TeamUEL”
Also in attendance, for the first time, was Marketing and Communications Manager Jose Tova, whose highlight from the day was being in the centre of London with his colleagues and seeing so many people cheering the crowd on.
The London Pride parade was a vibrant celebration of diversity under a glorious sun! Marching alongside colleagues and meeting new people from UEL in the heart of Central London was a truly memorable experience."
Check out some of the photos from the sunny, joyous day.
