The University of East London has gained further recognition for its apprenticeship programme, winning nominations in two categories of the Annual Apprenticeship Conference (AAC) awards. The University is one of just two finalists in both the Construction Apprenticeship Provider of the Year category and the Digital Apprenticeship Provider of the Year section, with the competition open to all apprenticeship providers and employers across the UK.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the achievement, Charlie Goodings, Apprenticeships & Employer Engagement Manager said,
I am absolutely delighted that we have been shortlisted for such prestigious awards. The UEL Apprenticeship Team have worked so hard over the past near three years with both employers, internal colleagues and wider external bodies to enhance our offer and continue to provide a quality apprenticeship service to our apprentice and employer base"
The awards, organised by the Association of Employment and Learning Providers and the online publication FE Week, celebrate excellence in apprenticeship delivery. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Annual Apprenticeship Conference in Birmingham’s International Convention Centre on 27 February 2024.
The nominations are an impressive milestone on the University’s path towards apprenticeship excellence since it began offering apprenticeships, with the number of higher and degree level apprenticeships at UEL increasing ten-fold since 2019, up to around 1,600 across 13 different courses and qualifications.
That dramatic expansion looks set to continue, with the University involved with the Green Advisory Panel at the Institute For Apprenticeships And Technical Education to shape new pathways in industries concerned with green technology and sustainable enterprise. Planning is already underway to launch ten more apprenticeships in the next two years, underlining UEL’s status as a beacon of innovation in apprenticeship development.
As UEL prepares for the AAC Awards, it proudly stresses commitment, innovation, and excellence in the apprenticeship provision, further reinforcing its position among the industry's leading providers.
We offer a number of apprenticeships across a range of subjects such as digital and technology solutions and business. View all our apprenticeships.
