The University of East London has been awarded a Silver rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023. The TEF panel recognised the University’s commitment and evidence in providing high-quality education and positive student outcomes for its diverse population.
The TEF 2023 panel, appointed by the Office for Students, evaluated UEL’s performance through various facets of its operations, resulting in an overall Silver rating.
One of the UK’s most socially inclusive universities, UEL’s strategy addresses health and economic inequalities, with the aim of contributing to positive social change, locally and globally. The achievement of a Silver Award underscores the University’s dedication to delivering an exceptional learning environment that empowers its students to excel academically and professionally, providing value-added education to support the careers and opportunities of the fast-changing future.
UEL Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Amanda Broderick said,
Receiving a Silver rating in the TEF 2023 is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our University community to provide an exceptional educational experience that fosters growth, inclusivity, and success.
“The University has made strong progress in creating the conditions and environment for each and every student to flourish and thrive, and for our employer partners to access the outstanding, diverse talent of the future.”
The TEF assessment highlighted a number of significant attributes of the University of East London:

For example, the ‘Track My Future’ personalised innovation contributed to a six percent increase in average grades for students who used these resources.
