Talal Rafi, a first-class honours graduate in BA Hons Business Management from UEL, has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of Almas Holdings, one of Sri Lanka's largest asset management firms. Talal was an avid entrepreneur who has worked in the development sector for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and World Bank projects.
He currently works at Deloitte as an economist and management consultant, and he is a member of the Deloitte Global Economist Network. Talal is an Expert Member of the World Economic Forum and a regular Columnist for the International Monetary Fund.
Talal shared how studying at UEL shaped his career:
"The thorough knowledge I got, especially from economics, helped me a lot. My dissertation on "The Effects of Inward FDI on China" developed my skills in researching and gaining a thorough knowledge of global economies."
This feat is worthy of commendation, and the UEL community is proud to call Talal an alumnus of RDSBL and UEL.
