Preconditions of peace in the Balkans and the Greater Middle East

The Royal Docks School of Business and Law will be hosting a three-day international symposium entitled "The Balkans and the Greater Middle East in the Global Vortex". The conference will take place at the University Square Stratford campus from 15-17 March 2023.
On Friday 17 March, following a Welcome by Professor Amanda Broderick, (President and VC of UEL) and Dr Shampa Roy-Mukherjee (Interim Dean of the Royal Docks School of Business & Law) audiences will be able to hear three reports on “Preconditions of peace in the Balkans and the Greater Middle East” with esteemed speakers Sir William Patey (Permanent Representative of BiH to the UN) HE Prica Milos (former UK Ambassador to Iraq and Afghanistan) and HE Peter Ford (former UK Ambassador to Bahrain and Syria).
The afternoon session will see a Q & A on the reports of the ambassadors with participation from policy-makers, businesspersons, journalists, students and academics chaired by Professor William Mallinson (former British diplomat and member of the Editorial Committee of the Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies).
The three day conference will also mark and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the "Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies" which is published by Routledge/Taylor & Francis.
