UEL's Royal Docks School of Business and Law (RDSBL) celebrated outstanding results in the latest National Student Survey (NSS). Several RDSBL courses were rated the best in the country in some categories, with other courses doing well compared to all other London universities.
The NSS asks final year students in all UK higher education institutions their opinions on the quality of their courses, and is widely regarded as the most accurate measure of student satisfaction.
The RDSBL’s human resource management courses were among the best performers, rated as the best in the country in eight categories, including “Learning Resources” and “Learning Opportunities.”
The School’s finance courses were ranked first in the UK for “Assessment and Feedback” and best in London in six other categories, including “Teaching on my Course” and “Learning Opportunities.”
Marketing courses were also highly rated, coming first in the UK for “Learning Opportunities” and second in three other categories, including “Teaching on my course.”
95 per cent of students rated the business management course positively, making it London’s top course in its sector in four categories, including “Assessment and Feedback” and “Academic Support.”
That was topped by both hospitality management and tourism management, which both saw 96 per cent of students responding positively, while 91 per cent of students responded positively to questions about the Law LLB course.
Tanisha George, who received a first in her accounting and finance degree said,
Our education at UEL has enabled us to be strategic business thinkers and I am proud that this has been exemplified in outstanding NSS results."
Law student Mehwish Farhan added,
UEL equipped me with both theoretical and practical knowledge to enter the legal realm with confidence and ability to face any challenge it may pose. I am pleased to see RDSBL and Law LLB has been recognised in such a positive way in this year's NSS results."
The Interim Dean of RDSBL Dr Shampa Roy-Mukherjee said,
"Congratulations and thank you to all RDSBL colleagues for the amazing NSS scores this year. It is a testament to the commitment of our academic staff and our inclusive, supportive and innovative learning and teaching environment. I would also like to thank our students for showing their vote of confidence in us."
Overall, UEL secured the 13th spot in terms of overall positivity among all major UK institutions. This accomplishment speaks volumes about UEL's distinctive approach to education, focused on equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful careers.
