Educom shines with sector-leading feedback

Students at the University of East London have given the School of Education and Communities (Educom) outstanding ratings in the latest National Student Survey (NSS).
The survey asks final year students in all British higher education institutions their opinions on the quality of their courses, and is widely regarded as the most accurate measure of student satisfaction.
Educom has emerged as a beacon of excellence in the 2023 survey, with sector-leading performances across a diverse range of disciplines. Here we pick out some of the stand-out courses and results.
The psychosocial programme earned resounding praise from its students. An impressive 94 per cent of surveyed students expressed their satisfaction with the "Teaching on my Course" section of the 2023 NSS. This outstanding feedback reaffirms the course's commitment to delivering high-quality education that resonates with students.
Sociology and Sociology with Criminology
Educom's sociology courses, including sociology with criminology, have secured the top position in London for the categories, "Teaching on my Course" and "Assessment and Feedback". These accolades not only reflect the dedication of the School but also the commitment to nurturing a learning environment that encourages engagement and growth.
The early childhood studies programme stands out with an impressive 93 per cent of students positively rating the "Teaching on my Course". It also secured the top spot in London for "Assessment and Feedback" and "Learning Opportunities" in the childhood and youth studies category.
Special Education and Teacher Training
The special education programme also has exceptional ratings, with 96 per cent of students positive in the "Teaching on my Course” category. UEL's teacher training courses have also demonstrated their excellence, ranking first in London for "Assessment and Feedback". These achievements underline the School of Education and the Communities' commitment to preparing educators who are ready to make a meaningful impact.
Sustainable Development and Social Change
The sustainable development and social change programme excels with 100 per cent of students giving a positive response in the "Academic Support" category in the 2023 NSS. Additionally, the Development Studies course has secured the top spot in the UK across five themes, including "Learning Resources" and "Academic Support". These accomplishments reaffirm UEL's commitment to shaping future leaders who will drive positive societal transformations across the globe.
Primary Education and Special Education (Online)
The primary education courses with qualified teacher status enjoy an outstanding 94 per cent satisfaction rate for "Academic Support," while the special education (online) courses have clinched the top spot in London for "Assessment and Feedback". These achievements exemplify the School's dedication to fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment.
