Dance at the University of East London has significantly exceeded the sector benchmark for overall satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2022.
The newly-published results show the satisfaction of students studying dance at the University to be 94 per cent, compared to a sector average of 76 per cent.
Dance, which sits within the University's School of Arts and Creative Industries (ACI), was also ranked number one across London from the results in the NSS.
The NSS is an independent student survey carried out by the Office for Students on behalf of the UK higher education funding and regulatory bodies. The results are used by universities and colleges, as well as student unions, to drive improvements across multiple areas of students' academic experience.
It is also used by prospective students to help inform their decision on which university to choose and what to study.
Approximately 325,000 students from nearly 400 institutions took part in this year's survey.
Professor Dominic Hingorani, ACI's head of music, writing and performance, said,
Despite returning to some normality during the last year, it has still been a challenging one for all of us, and we have continued to make supporting our students, both in their studies and wellbeing, our highest priority."
"As sector leaders in introducing BA (Hons) Dance Urban Practice into the Higher Education sector in 2007, we continue to drive innovation, representation and the inclusion of dance cultures into the arts, and we are as passionate as ever in delivering world class programmes in Dance and Performing Arts as shown by our 94 per cent score in NSS."
