Fast, smooth and reliable broadband is essential for a great university experience. In the prestigious National Student Housing Awards 2021, the University of East London (UEL) has won the Best Student Broadband category in rankings based totally on direct feedback from over 30, 000 students across 200 universities and colleges.
The National Student Housing Awards are organised under the auspices of Global Student Living, the company that collects and collates the latest data from student experience around the world.
Two years ago, we identified the WIFI upgrade as a real opportunity to enhance experience and satisfaction of residents. I am delighted the upgrade has been recognised on a national level and that the success of the collaborative improvement has come to fruition. Most importantly, the National Student Housing Awards are voted by our students,"
Cienna Simmie, head of residential life at UEL Student and Academic Services, said.
UEL's broadband partner is Glide, a leader in communications delivery for educational institutions. Steve Eggleton, Sales Director for Higher Education at Glide, said, "We are delighted to see the University win the Best Student Broadband award, especially at a time when students have been more dependent on the service than ever before."
The award comes at a time when connecting students through cutting edge technology is crucial for uninterrupted education. The efficiency of UEL broadband is at the core of two other connectivity landmarks at UEL: the Connected Campus, making a more vibrant and energised university environment, and the Dual Delivery 2.0 model that enables seamless connection of students and teachers, online and on campus.
