UEL business master's degree wins accreditation

The University of East London's MSc in International Business Management course has secured accreditation from the prestigious Association for Project Management (APM).

The validation by the chartered body lets students know they are receiving the best education to support a career in the field.

"The APM assessor who visited us was highly impressed. During our meeting, programme leader Dr Shazaib Butt and I explained how the module and the course were being managed, our student engagement process, and how we were meeting the tough APM criteria.

"The assessor also met with two students who have taken the module, and he was impressed by their positive feedback,"

Professor Mohammad Ali, dean of the Royal Docks School of Business and Law, said, "As part of Vision 2028, our 10-year transformation strategy, we have investigated how to future-proof our courses to reflect the changes brought about by the fourth industrial revolution. We want our students to understand and command a business landscape that is busy with new technology, such as artificial intelligence and big data.

"So, we are delighted that our International Business Management master's degree has found favour with the APM and that our students can be assured we are fully preparing them for a rapidly changing world of work."

The International Business Management MSc puts the commercial world in a global context, covering entrepreneurship, innovation, corporate strategy, consultancy and more. The teaching staff, drawn from many countries and with rich real-world experience, can pass on first-hand knowledge of industry practice.

The course benefits from its proximity to global international business centres at Canary Wharf and the City of London, and the University's Docklands campus sits in the heart of London's only enterprise zone which is seeing billions of pounds of investment in business infrastructure, including a ground-breaking Asian business park.
