Professor Egbu and Dr. Pickup bring an impressive set of skills and experience to the University leadership team.
"We have embarked on an ambitious 10-year transformational journey to place preparation for the careers and innovation needs of the future, co-produced with industry, at the centre of our education and knowledge exchange activity. Dr Pickup and Professor Egbu both have a compelling track record of preparing students for success, and they will help us chart a path of maximum benefit to our students, the University and our communities,"
Professor Amanda Broderick, UEL vice-chancellor and president, said.

Dr Pickup said, "I am very excited to be joining a university which shares my strong commitment to community, diversity and innovation. The University of East London puts learning and student success at the heart of its institutional strategy, and it is uniquely positioned to ensure that an increasingly diverse generation of students experience academic and career success. I look forward to using my skills and experience to help UEL and UEL students achieve their ambitions."
