I am a senior lecturer working mostly on the BSc (Hons) Podiatry programme. I am also the HSB school quality leader.

I have been at UEL since 2003, previous to that I was at UCL and before that a Podiatrist working in the NHS and private practice. I teach at all levels of the Podiatry programme and also chair the school quality committee.

David Watkinson

OVERVIEW

The programmes in this area allow students to work as allied health professionals in both the NHS and private sector. All students on graduation will be eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council.  I was originally in the army and then retrained as a podiatrist. I began my academic career at UCL in 1998 and joined UEL in 2003. I run the PT4002 Physiology module and I teach on a variety of modules and also manage the placement programme for Podiatry. Placements allow students to garner a wealth of experience within the NHS in London and the South East, by the end of the programme they will have 1000 hours worth of clinical experience. All students on graduation will be eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council which allows them to use the title Podiatrist and work within the NHS.
