Our futsal club

    Futsal is a five per side game, played indoors with a ball similar to a football; just slightly smaller and heavier. It's an exciting, fast-paced game, originating from South America in the 1930s.

    Futsal is played across the world and is officially recognised by UEFA and FIFA. Some of the world’s best football players, including Lionel Messi even began playing Futsal.

    Technical skill and situations of high pressure are key components of Futsal, and it’s an excellent starting point for football competencies that can be translated into the 11 per side format of the game.


    UEL’s Futsal team play within our state of the art £21 million SportsDock facility at the Docklands campus. We pride ourselves upon our dynamic sports complex which hosts all of our futsal fixtures. We have a show court in our first arena and two futsal pitches in our second arena.  

    Our Futsal Club has two men’s and one women’s team. We compete in the BUCS league; our Women’s team play in the South Eastern 1A and the Men’s teams play in the second and third tiers respectively.

    Men's Futsal - Thursday at 5:00-6:30pm at SportsDock.
    Women's Futsal - Thursday at 6:30-8:00pm at SportsDock.


    Being a part of the futsal team is all about meeting new friends, trying a new sport and getting fit. For those who wish to take futsal further, we are also partnered with national futsal league club, Genesis.
