Visiting a university during years 12 and 13 is invaluable to support young people in deciding on their future. UEL have a number of offers available throughout the year to support your students.
Your Future Days 2017Your Future days are unique open days which feature academic workshops, student life presentations and employability skill sessions, aimed at year 12 and 13 students to:
- gain an understanding of what learning is like at university
- gain key transferable skills to support their future career
- gain valuable experience for their personal statement
- discover student life.
All days run from 10.00am to 3.00pm across our three campuses (Docklands, USS and Stratford) and are suitable for students in both the first and second year of college or sixth form (Year 12 and 13).
Students from all local schools and colleges are welcome and must gain permission from their school or college to attend.

Summer Schools 2018A fantastic way for your students to experience university and discover UEL is with our FREE Summer School Programme available between June and July.
Exclusively for Year 12, students have the opportunity to develop essential professional skills working on industry-set projects with experts, employers, academics and UEL students.
Our 2018 summer school dates will be available shortly and are open to students from local boroughs with priority given to those students from a widening participation background.

Future Engineers for Smart Cities
Future Business Leaders

If you are looking for a bespoke day on a UEL campus, our team would be really keen to discuss this with you and tailor a visit to best meet your needs.
Taster days are designed with your students in mind focusing, on specific subject areas to give students an experience of learning at a higher education level in their chosen subjects. Led by UEL academics, these interactive workshops are combined with a selection of transferable skills sessions to choose from.

In addition to this, UEL’s academic schools provide opportunities for young people from local schools and colleges to attend open lectures, seminars, presentations or talks given by internal or external organisations.

Progression Sessions and Employability Skills WorkshopsFocusing on personal development and supporting your students to gain the academic skills to successfully transition from post 16 into higher education.

- Choices – how to choose a university and course, navigating the application process
- Personal Statements – advice and top tips on writing a strong statement
- Student Finance – financial support available and managing your finances
- How to ace an essay and other HE skills – the skills to succeed in degree courses
- A student like me – personal stories of journeys into and from higher education.
All of our workshops include a focus on the five key employability skills - communication, problem-solving, teamwork, self-management and self-belief.
With delivery both on and off campus, these are available between September and March. Priority will be given to partner post 16 providers.
