Students on their way to Try A Sport
So we’ve been telling you about Try a Sport 365 before⦠It’s the SportsDock-run programme funded by Sports England that has been offering UEL students 30 minutes of free sports three times a week. This academic year’s sessions have been lots of fun, and if they’ve managed to get you hooked on the sporting life, all the better! The summer is too short to spend it in front of the TV.
At SportsDock alone, 14 different sports, ranging from Cardio Tennis to Dodgeball, from Karate to Paralympic Sports have been offered completely free of charge.
However, Try a Sport 365 has come to an end for now, so we wanted to let you know that the 2012/13 run has been very successful. Since September 2012 over 1,200 of you have taken part in Try a Sport sessions at different venues across East London. This is a dramatic increase on the 525 aspiring athletes that took part in 2011/12. Once again, you’ve been showing that you’re open to new and entertaining experiences, and your participation has been doing UEL proud!
SportsDock will see you in September. In the meantime, UEL will be working hard on its bid to be the best university for sports in 2015, and listening to Eye of the Tiger really loud.
Try A Sport 365: everybody wins.
