Stratford Library: work in progress!
In keeping with the renovation of the Stratford Campus, there are more and welcome news about the library! On Monday 24th June, the new Stratford Campus Library in Water Lane will open for business. The brand new library will offer all UEL students lots of new options for uni work and fun, including 24/7 access, social study areas, more PCs and even a garden with bamboo!
However, before you can enjoy all the new facilities and services you'll have to be patient for a while. The current Stratford and Duncan House libraries will close their doors for good from 5pm, Friday 7 June. This means for two weeks from Saturday 8 to Sunday 23 June there will be no library facilities in Stratford, whilst relocation takes place.
During this time, you’ll have 24/7 access to a full range of online resources using your Athens password. Docklands Library will also be open for business as usual. Or you could also consider the temperature, the weather, the time of the year, come to the conclusion that your sad fate is to stay away from any form of academic work for two weeks, and head for the park.
If you don't have the luxury to take the time off studying, UEL wants you to take home all you need for your essays, so you'll also be able to borrow a whopping 25 items from the library from the beginning of June - that's 10 more than usual.
So put a note in your diaries: Stratford and Duncan House Library closed from Saturday 8 to Sunday 23 June, and the new, state-of-the-art Stratford library opens on Monday 24 June.
